A delegation from the Plant Quarantine and Protection Agency is getting acquainted with the activities of the Research Institute of Agriculture and Tourism in the city of Poreč, Istra region, Republic of Croatia

The delegation of the Plant Quarantine and Protection Agency is getting acquainted with the activities of the Research Institute of Agriculture and Tourism in the city of Poreč, Istra region, Republic of Croatia. The experience exchange project is being implemented with the support of the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) and is aimed at scientific and practical development of the field of plant quarantine and protection, harmonization of research methods with international requirements.

As part of the project, the Agency's specialists visited the grape plantation of the Agrolaguna company located in Poreč, Croatia.

The specialists got acquainted with the Croatian experience in the practice of growing varieties resistant to diseases and pests in grape growing, measures to combat them in season, and harvesting ripe products. The research on plant protection and adaptation of crops to climate change, as well as the system of economic accounting at this institute were highly appreciated.

Therefore, it is planned to integrate advanced experience into the phytosanitary sector of our country.
